Brogues are perhaps the most classic style of shoe and should be a staple in every footwear collection. Offering style and variety, the brogue shoe comes in a number of different finishes, ranging from the more formal plain toe to the casual longwing brogues. Brogues traditionally feature multi-piece, layered sturdy leather uppers with different levels of broguing, depending on the style. The brogue style can be traced back to Ireland, where they were constructed using untanned hide with perforations, allowing water to drain the shoes when crossing wet boggy terrains. Fast forward to modern times and the brogue can be worn on any occasion, so whether you have a important work meeting or a casual night out, look no further than the brogue for the perfect shoe.
