Crocs should not fit like any other shoe - they should be loose and your feet should not really touch the sides or the front. Centering your foot on the footbed you should have about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of space in front of your toes and behind your heel, easily getting your finger between the strap and the heel, i.e. loose.
