Authorised Retailers of UGG® Australia

Hundreds of bogus UGG Boots websites are shut down to protect UK consumers

In an effort to crack down on bogus UGG Boots websites (either selling fake UGG Boots or fake websites that were purely designed to conduct identity fraud), the Metropolitan police have shut down over 400 illegal UGGs websites in recent days. This ensures that legitimate sellers like Cloggs.co.uk are left to sell real UGG Boots on real websites, and that consumer’s pockets are protected.

Even though the Metropolitan police have taken this drastic measure, this doesn’t mean to say that there won’t still be bogus websites out there. Whilst this will cause concern amongst potential buyers, Cloggs.co.uk knows just how to identify genuine UGGs websites from fakes. In association with Consumer Direct, the government service for advice on consumer issues, Cloggs.co.uk has compiled the following handy checklist so that consumers can check for legitimacy before they part with their hard earned cash.

1. If the UGGs available on a site are way too cheap, they are more than likely fake.
2. If a website offers UGG Boots like the UGG Bailey Button and the Classic Tall UGG, check on the official UGG Australia website that they are listed as an authorised online retailer.
3. Check that they have valid security certificates and accreditations so that any identity information like names, addresses and credit card details will be protected.
4. Look for their UK company registration number and VAT registration number – this should always be displayed on the website.
5. Look for a valid business address – if the website only lists a PO Box or forwarding email address avoid them.
6. Ensure that the website has a working telephone number that connects to a real person at the end of it – not just an automated message.
7. Make sure that the company accepts lots of payment types like Visa, MasterCard, Delta, Solo, Maestro or American Express This proves that the company has a legitimate UK bank account that can be traced.
8. Check just how long the site has been registered, who it has been registered to and where it is registered. Scam websites are almost always new and often disappear and reappear with very similar names. This can be checked on sites like Nominet.
9. Enter the name of the company into a search engine. If the website is linked to by lots of independent companies and has received independent reviews and feedback, then it will be a legitimate site.

All these websites are designed to do is make money illegally – either by selling fake products or using the website to gain identity information that will be used illegally elsewhere. Cloggs.co.uk applauds the efforts made by the Metropolitan police to protect UK consumers this Christmas and are glad to support this effort by promoting a handy website checklist to ensure that consumers don’t get stung when buying UGG boots in the future”.

UGG boots are one of the biggest growing fashion trends of the 21st century, but the actual concept of UGG Boots is nothing new – sheepskin boots have always been popular in colder climates such as the Artic and China. However, thanks to pilots in first and second world wars, competitive swimmers and surfers in the 1960’s and Australian sheep herders, the practical comfort and warmth offered by such boots made it into mainstream footwear apparel fast. Thanks to celebrities like Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, Oprah and Jessica Simpson wearing UGG Boots, this fashion trend is set to stay for the foreseeable future.

We Won’t Let Royal Mail Strikes Affect Delivery Times

Cloggs.co.uk avoids the threat of delays caused by Royal Mail postal strikes and offers free delivery of all its footwear to customers via another carrier.

Royal Mail is experiencing a series of one day strikes that will cripple the UK postal service, but Cloggs is determined not to let it affect delivery of shoes to its customers. Offering an alternative, free delivery service via another carrier, Cloggs.co.uk has put its customers first once again.

Just like any other online retail business, Cloggs relies completely on the UK postal service to deliver shoes and boots to its customers on time. With Royal Mail strikes posing a real threat to online traders, Cloggs.co.uk didn’t want its customers to worry unnecessarily, especially in the run up to Christmas. Cloggs' proactive, forward thinking attitude has ensured that this will not be the case.

Even though Cloggs only use Royal Mail ‘Tracked’ services (which they have been assured by senior management at Royal Mail will remain unaffected by the strike – even if senior managers have to hand deliver them themselves), Cloggs wanted to completely reassure customers and offer them alternative delivery methods.

Instead of customers wondering when their top brand shoes and boots like the latest UGGs would show up once they have ordered, Cloggs is offering people the choice, at checkout, to opt for a Priority free delivery service via HDNL (the UK's largest home delivery service).

G-Star Raw have introduced this causal new low top, inspired by the classic running shoe with a smooth leather upper, trimmed with suede on the heel and vamp. Ladies Dr Martens Latoya - Just In!
The Latoya shoe is part of the Dr Martens Flocked Collection. Featuring a padded footbed with ornate design and air cushion sole. Smooth leather uppers with detail stitching, peep toe, trebble studs and a buckle feature as the cherry on the top!

We grabbed ourselves a pair as soon as they came out the box! Lucia has the Grey Palatino, which she has been sporting with a cool denim mini and cut off tights. I've gone for the bright Red Palatino and teamed them up with some skinny worn look jeans - They are my new favs, i love them!

For the guys we have the Referee FOT II in White/Brown, which is the latest edition to the Puma Sport Lifestyle range at a fab cost of £44.95. Crocs Crocs Crocs

For all the Croc lovers out there... no we don't mean the scaly alligator kind! We're talking about the Crocs that are medically designed with shock absorbing properties which minimize the load on feet, legs, knees, hips and the lower back. We have 2 new styles and 3 new colours of the classic Cayman style.

For the guys we have 2 new styles - Yukon which is available in Black or Khaki and features suede uppers and removable fastening straps. Crete is a low profile Crocs sandal and is available in Black, Khaki/Chocolate and White/Khaki.

New Brand Added - Henri Lloyd

We are growing bigger every day! Another one for the boys, we've added Henri Lloyd as our newest brand.

Henri Lloyd is proud of it’s continual product innovation, high quality, and attention to detail. Henri Lloyd certianly stands out amongst the rest and can often be seen on celebrities out and about.

So many styles to talk about... let's get started! We have a few classic styles such as, The Vigour Strap availble in White/Silver and Black/Silver. Another couple of strappy ones are the Nevada Strap in White/Navy and the Vear Strap in White/Navy. You can also get this style as a lace up too, check out the Vear Lace in White/Navy. New Brand Added - Duck And Cover

So last Monday we had the new brand El Naturalista added to our collection for the girls. This Monday we have added the ever so popular brand Duck and Cover for the guys.

Duck and Cover (named after an ill-informed public information film) started as a small, design-focused clothing company in 1996. They aimed to provide fashion aware individuals with an alternative to the urban uniform style that prevailed at the time.

We have added three new products, firstly the Brogan available in White or Black and then we have the Wallis Lace available in White / Grey.

Three new styles have been added to our Nanny State collection

We have an updated version of the Nanny State Mesh in White, it's the Toe Detail Mesh Leather - White / Silver / Black. This round toe shoe has lightweight, breathable mesh uppers with leather toe cap and cushioned insole for comfortable wearing.

We also have a brand new style in, the Nanny State Milliband available in Grey or Navy. These really are some fab casual pumps, perfect with a pair of shorts for the daytime or pair them up with some jeans for a night out.

El Naturalista Now In!

We have added the very eco-friendly El Naturalista to our ever growing list of brands

If you've never heard of El Naturalista, well here is a little introduction about them. The symbol, the frog, represents a land made fertile by water and embodies simple, worldly pleasures. The frog represents the permanent fight against stagnation and reflects our nonconformist character. El Naturalista enjoy creating comfortable and attractive footwear, that helps us to move along the amazing journey of life. They make shoes for people who embrace life as they walk and their designers are inspired by dreams of a better world.

Firstly we have the Iggdrasil available in Lila or Green. These mules feature decorative hand-stitched details and a rustic, earthy presence. The Nasca is a Mary Jane style shoe available in Brown and was inspired by the designed trip to Nasca, Peru. Then we have the Ambar in Rioja which has a vegetable-tanned leather, this was churned with ground tree bark and river stones for weeks to make the hide resilient to dirt, water, and daily wear and tear.
